Google search bar not working

I don't know if anyone else is having this problem, but if I do a search from the dedicated search from the google bar, I end up getting a page not found error message. Every time.

You would think this function would be airtight, but nope. OTA update soon.

I just tested this as I read it and mine works fine.

Try to remove the search function from the home screen then add it back from the the widget. You will need to hold the home screen about 3 seconds then you will get this option.

I have the same problem on the edge network. I'll try on wifi tonite when I get home, but the url that shows page not found is:

www.google.com/ap_index

somehow that ap_index is being appended to the url

It doesn't work for me either.

Furthermore, I get the same ap_index error if I type www.google.com into the url bar or the browser. Doesn't seem right on a google phone.

This happens to me too... the same thing happens if I open the browser and go to www.google.com. I'm pretty sure it worked in the beginning but I don't know what I did to break it.

Oh, I just fixed it. Clear your browser's cache and it should work. Still not sure what caused it though, but I think it has to do something with iGoogle?

Not sure what the problem was... but I did a factory reset / data wipe, and that fixed it for me. Bummer to have to set the phone up again, but worth it in my book.

I've been having the same issue with my g2 but only when I'm not using wifi. So basically when I'm not home near a computer and I need to google search, I can't. Is google serious? I've been a long time fan and user of both google and their smartphones but this is retarded. I have to use yahoo search because my google search on my google phone doesn't work??? Retarded.

Anyway after weeks of frustration I may have solved the issue by unchecking googles permission to see my location. Hopefully this continues to work...
