The companies are offering a free replacement charger for those that have been affected by the recall.

Google and Hewlett-Packard have officially confirmed a recall of the original charger for HP's Chromebook 11.
Google announced on Tuesday that customers who own the original charger that goes with the Chromebook 11 can qualify to receive a new charger free of charge. That offer accompanies a recall of the original charger.
HP and Google announced last month that they had halted the sale of the Chromebook 11 after users reported that the chargers were overheating, causing issues during use. Google said at that time that it was working with the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) to determine the proper course of action. Google said on Tuesday that the CPSC, along with other agencies, decided a recall was in order.
In addition to launching its recall, Google said that it has resumed the sales of its Chromebook 11. All new purchases include the improved charger.
