The BBC has always been the last vestige of empire, renowned for its nepotism and craven following of the government of the day. In the light of recent scandals, is it time we put the old girl out of her misery, as she puts on some more makeup and tries to look young and trendy!!

Yes do away with the BBC ... at least it would give me another £140 to spend on shoes..

We should at least be given the choice of whether we wish to fund the BBC through the licence fee.I have no objection to those who wish to watch it continuing to watch it at their own expense but I don't wish to watch the BBC and I don't see why I should be forced to subsidise those that do.How much do listeners to the world service or viewers of BBC programmes abroad contribute?
