Good uses for Nokia LD-3W Bluetooth Gps for e-series?

Absolutely. In my sig is a link to a comparison between three free java gps apps, all tested with the E62 and a LD-1W (same thing as the 3W, only older).

Personally, if you're going the free route, I'd say nav4all is the best, but you could also check out TomTom, Route66, Wayfinder, etc. If you're creative you can find them.....cheaper

I skimmed through your review of Nav4All, and it was very informative. I like some of the handy features like 'remember my parking space'. Unfortunately, when you mentioned that a data connection is required, I had to think how great it is that smart2go can preload apps. I know I'm not putting my E-series to full use without a data plan, but I don't want to mess with my phone plan right now and preloaded maps are great.

if you use Nav4All without the map view, just the directions, it onlydownloads the directions.
hard to explain, you can go to their website and read more.

I understand... Unfortunately, I don't even have data access.

I'm on ATT wireless, later bought by Cingular, then re-repurchased by ATT. I see options for MEdiaNet and Cingular something, but neither works.
