GOOD TO SEE GRAFFITI GRUBS JAILED?

Well England has just jailed 6 Australian grubs for graffiti.This is true justice served! and i would like to ask when is Australia going to follow suit? If you steal a million dollars,you go to jail for 8 years.These grubs can do a million dollars worth of damage in a couple of months and when they get caught, they walk!! I hope the Australian courts can show some sort of social justice for the thousands of people and public utilities that fall victim to these vandals.

Jail for graffiti seems a bit harsh, unless it's proven the culprits are repeat offenders. Far as I'm concerned the right thing would be for restoration at the expense of the perps and maybe some community service tacked on for good measure. Do you have any idea what it costs to keep people in jail? Non violent offenders are not what we need to be spending money on.
