Good show, bad opening song

What are some shows you like that have an opening song that you can't stand?

Kim Possible
American Dragon, Season 1
Danny Phantom
Father of the Pride
Duck Dodgers
Samurai Jack
Shaggy & Scooby-Doo Get a Clue!

I really like the Samurai Jack opening theme! I wouldn't agree with Kim Possible either; the song isn't spectacular but isn't awful either.

"God, the Devil and Bob" had a pretty pathetic theme tune.

I'll agree on the Danny Phantom one. Love the show, can't stand the opening. I can vouch for the origin of how Danny got his powers (till "Memory Blank" anyways) and the opening with the different colored glowing Dannys is prettyful, and the rest itself is pretty appriorate and gives off a nice vibe on Danny's mysterious ghost powers, it's just the whole lyrics (especially the corny chorus) that throws me off. In truth, I rather the opening theme go without vocals because if the ending credits is any indication, it really sounds nice without it.

HIS MOLECULES GOT ALL RE-ARRANGED! :p

Oh God, you just had to remind me of that horrible retcon. Sam being responsible for Danny's origin = Lame, lame, lame. :raven:

Just as The Batman got good (actually, a little before), the intro song got bad. Not a bad song per se, good for something like Hawaii 5-0, but it doesn't fit well with Batman.

I like Kim Possible's too!

I say Superman. The song was alright actually, but the clip-filled opening was so cheesy compare to the other DCAU shows (though I understand that was a bugget thing).

Actually it was a time thing, they ran out of time to do a full intro( thus only 3 shots aren't clips ). Danny Phantom has a terrible theme. I dont really care for the LOSH theme, its ok, but its also kinda meh.

The first season theme of "The Batman" was weak, but the current one, I think, is more fun. I esp. love the horn hits halfway through which owe an obvious debt to Neal Hefti (who did the theme for the 60s live action series).

And speaking of good shows whose themes changed...the first season theme of the 90s version of "The Fantastic Four" is ghastly, even more so when you consider that the guy who wrote it won three Academy Awards for music.

Yeah, the Sonic X theme is pretty bad, but the shows' not much better, IMHO. In fact, a lot of the 4Kids' themes are kind of a pain on the ol' ears, IMO.

One OK show with a questionable opening for me is WB's Legion of Superheroes. It's not really bad per se, but to me the opening theme sounds more appropriate for a 70's prime-time cop show than a Saturday morning cartoon about superheroes. I keep expecting to hear an announcer say "A Quinn-Martin production" at the end. :anime:

I thought Duck Dodgers had an absolutely great opening theme. It was in the vein of the same sci-fi era that the original Duck Dodgers parodied. Fit the show perfectly and it just sounded cool...something I'd listen to all by itself.

The new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles had a very jarring theme when it premiered, but I grew accustomed to it quickly.

That show dun jumped the shark the moment they even THOUGHT about approaching destiniy's child to do the theme song. I'm not sure what to say about the show. I don't even hate it really...but I really...REALLY hate that theme song.

And Teen Titans. At first I liked it, but after watching many episodes, I am now just irritated by that song. There are such better, more authentic j-pop artists to have do your theme song than Puffy Ami Yumi, though I do like some of their other songs...

Garfield and Friends FIRST opening. It just grated on my nerves, especially at the end with that lady's screeching voice.

Danny Phantom Corny. I always mute the TV when it comes on.

Here's one I just thought of: Earthworm Jim. I, for one, couldn't stand the them tune - I used to press the mute button as soon as the show came on. Some fans consider the theme tune to be one of the best things about the EWJ toon, and I'm sure some people here would disagree. But I still hate that song.

The cartoon itself was fine.

I agree with everyone who thinks Danny Phantom has a horrible theme song.

"He's a Phantom! Danny Phantom!" Umm, right. This from the people that gave us the terrific Fairly Oddparents theme?
