Good setting for evil mermaid novel?

i chose white rock, british columbia because I live near there and I was just there yesterday and it was inspiring. I came home and wrote for hours. The little shops and the pier and everything it was all so cute. I had dinner at the boathouse on the roof and I think it is the perfect place for my novel. It just felt right and i could describe it so well.

What do you think? Any suggestions?
