I am a quality control manager and i think i am doing a good job and i want a raise.
but what is the i dont average for error for a company after it ships the product?
after comparing a few internal databases's these are my nunmbers
1.7% failure rate out of the box
2.4% failure rate with in 60 days
3.7% failure rate with in 120 days
some of the reasons the units came back was my fault but other factors include shipping, bad tech support, end user computers not up to spec for our unit
so in short over the last 6 months i tested thousands of units 3.7% has come back to our plant to get repaired but only 1.7% failure rate out of the box
so am i doing good or should i find new ways to test these units before they leave the company
what is the average for error rate with in the tech industry
thanks much
