Good *performance* tires for 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee?

I enjoy driving my Jeep. It's an 8 banger (NOT 4WD) and it's time for new tires. I am San Diego, CA. No snow and not much rain.
Right now I have what the dealer put on, P225/75R16.
What tires should I get for performance? Size? Type/Brand?
