Good Neurosurgeons in Texas

Hello,

I just wanted to see if anyone could give me a list of some very qualified neurosurgeons in TExas.. I had ACDF surgery last year and have been having major complications from.. I desperately need to get a 2nd or 3rd opinion. I have chronic pain and MRI's arent showing much.. I also am having a hard time getting a 2nd opinion where I live b/c my surgeon is very well known in the city I live in.. If anyone has any advice please or knows of some great neurosurgeons please let me know. THanks
 
Would you mind saying either where your current doc is located, or where you're willing to go? Probably the best know group is in Plano.

Also, how about seeing an orthopedic spinal specialist this time 'round?
 
After much information from Neuros for my husbanRAB condition we went outside to get an orthopedic spine surgeon's opinion. Ultimately we used Dr. Alan E Heilman at Texas Orthopedic (ortho). We were very pleased with his surgery....L5 s1 fusion. He's 18 weeks out. We have been really pleased with all of his recommendations/procedures up to this point. Again he's a spine specialist. He's in Houston.
 
I used Dr. Steven Courtney in Plano Texas. He is fellowship trained and board certified on top of quite a few research awarRAB. He used to be head of the Ortho department at the main hospital in Plano but left to form is own group.
Plano Orthopedics and Sports Medicine or something close to that. I loved the whole group-very available and friendly.

Texas is REALLY big and you didn't tell us what part you are in.

I saw an orthopedic spine specialist originally in Dallas.. HE is very well known and I am having a hard time getting an unbiased second opinion b/c everyone knows him.. I have been going through hell this past year and my symtoms arent getting any better.. I thought I should seek a neurosurgeon this time around because I still havent been diagnosed as of yet to what is going on after my ACDF surgery.. I was thinking of going to HOuston but I am at witts end of what to do...
 
I would still look up Dr. Courtneys group. He doesn't seem like the type to be influenced by another doctor's opinion. He was very easy going and approachable-even keeps a photo book posing with his patients after surgery and shares recipes. My healing was pretty fast and uneventful till scar tissue hit two years later-not his fault-my body just forms scar tissue pretty easily. I am surprised it took this long.
You might try another group in your area before traveling so far-follow ups and all would be really hard for you.
Do what makes you comfortable so you will heal quicker!
