...and sending? If you want a different way to set up your iPhone 3.0 for a Yahoo Business Mail (Bizmail) Account so that you email "pushes" to you instead of you having to "fetch" it and so that you can see your folders online, set up your iPhone like I wrote it out below. It is CONVOLUTED! (This won't work for the iPod Touch.)

1.Set WiFi to OFF under settings. You can't use WiFi with this new setup and still pull in your mail.

2.Delete the account you want to change IF it is already there in Mail, Contacts, Settings

3.Add Account…

4.Select "Other"

5.Click “Add Mail Account”

6.Type in:
a.Name: The name you want users to see
b.Address: [email protected]
c.Password: your password
d.Description: Name of your account that only you see

7.Click Save

8.Make sure “IMAP” is selected in blue

9.Type in for incoming mail server:
a.Host name: imap.mail.yahoo.com
b.User Name: [email protected]
c.Password: your password

10.Type in for outgoing mail server:
a.Host name: smtp.bizmail.yahoo.com:25
b.User name: [email protected]
c.Password: your password

11.Click save

12.It will “think” for a while verifying IMAP account information.

13.It will ask you, “Do you want to save without SSL?” Click YES.

14.It will “think” for a while longer.

15.When it finishes and you see your list of accounts then you performed steps 1-14 correctly. If you have errors, make sure you typed in everything correctly.

16.Go back into your newly created account and change the incoming server user name to: [email protected]

17.Navigate to your mailbox and then do a test send to another email address and then a test receive from another email address. If you can send and receive then you now have IMAP and Push on your Yahoo Bizmail Account!

PS – I got my first idea for this fix from this blog: http://emaild.net/blog1/2008/02/yahoo_small_buisness_mail_imap.html
