Good camera/lens for great sports pictures?

Thats relatively inexpesive $200-600
And any advice on how to capture the perfect moment?
These pictures will be used in my schools publications( newspaper, yearbook, advertisements,etc.)
Any help is greatly appreciated!
I meant $200-800. Sorry.
 
It's been said X number of times, 'It's not the camera, it's the skilled eye behind it'.

Find a camera that works for you and with you, learn it's method of production, use that to capture the 'great' photos you are looking to capture.

A $30,000 camera will not automatically take great photos, neither will one that is free.
