1. I am looking to buy an older Honda Goldwing or Silverwing, a touring bike so I can ride comfortably cross-country with my boyfriend. Is there any way to tell if a bike has sat; i.e., it has super-low miles yet it's 26 years-old, therefore did it sit for like 8 yrs. in some storage place? I hear bike sitting = trouble.
2. Learned TWO hard lessons in buying used bikes already. NEED to know what to look for mechanically as potential problems or problems in the future. For ex., rust in the tank means been sitting, didn't treat, points to troubles down the road. What other things should I look for besides that? Electrical? Breaks? Paint & Body? General Wear? Engine Start-Up?
