Is keeping goldfish comets and other goldfish in a tank with tropical fish bad. I have sharks barbs etc but only the barbs nip their tail. I just feel that the goldfish are suffering and I was wondering if I should take them out?

If you consider this:

Goldfish = thrive in cold water, around 60-76 degrees
Tropical = thrive in warm water, around 78-82 degrees

How..........would....goldfish....fare with your tropicals?

If they were able to speak, what do you think your goldfish would have to say to you?

Comet goldfish grow so large and are really not ideal fish for an aquarium in any case. See if you can find someone with a goldfish pond.

Godlfish are coldwater fish and should not be kept with tropicals, especially those that nip.

Yes, you should take them out. Goldfish cannot go with tropical fish because they both need different temperatures. Goldfish do not do well in warmer water and tropical fish do not do well in cold water.

If the other fish are nipping the goldfish tails then yes it would be better to separate them. Plus goldfish need 20 gallons of water per fish

Absolutely take them out Goldfish are cold water and tropical are warmer then them. Goldfish like it around 70 degrees Farenheit and Tropicals most of them their lowest Temperature they can have is 74 degrees Farenheit. So ya i would take them out to a different tank also the barbs are probably nippy because they are not in groups since they like to be in them!
