I had a gold fish tank before i got my tropical fish i gave my friend a goldfish but she cant have it anymore so could i put it in with my tropical fish.

My water temp is 25-28

i have Molly's, Platy's, Cory's, AE, Minnow's in my tropical tank

Could someone let me know please....

No,

-goldfish are coldwater and tropical fish are warm water

-tropical fish move faster than fancy goldfish and will usually reach the food before the goldfish do

-goldfish produce a lot of ammonia which, will affect the pH of the water for the tropical fish

- if you mix them it can lead to problems

It's best not to do so.. they may live for a little but not for too long. It is best to keep tropical fish in tropical tanks. Otherwise mixing won't go too well.

I'm no expert by any means, but im pretty sure that goldfish require cold water and so probably shouldn't be put in a tropical tank

I'd ask your closest pet shop if i were you,

or there are plenty of pet books around in libraries etc

or you could probably research it on the internet

Generally this is not proper. The Gold fish will not feel comfortable being with tropical kinds of fish. They will annoy it. Also Gold fish requires less tempratures than within a tropical tank. It may end-up stressed & sick.

You can but it won't live as long because in warmer water his heart will beat faster. Also it may eat some of your smaller fish!

i dont think you should because the gold fish could have all sorts of deseases that could kill your tropical fish. it would be better if you got another tank and put it with other cold water fish.

you could probaly get away with it however i wouldnt advise it goldfish are natrauly cold water fish so you would be changeing it quite abit the temp could also shock the fish stressing it out which will kill it.

also it will eat your minows

however what ever you choose to do goodluck

:)

no you can't, your goldfish will be very uncomfortable and will die early.

It will also be more open to disease which will in turn infect all the other fish in the tank..
