I live in Massachusetts. In MA you are required to have auto insurance.

My auto insurance got cancelled because of non-payment in November or December of 2009.

I am currently a college student, and in these tough times it was hard to make ends meet with all my bills and rent etc.

Because my insurance got cancelled and I live in MA where insurance is required my car registration got revoked as well (which I wasn't aware of).

I went to the store and a police officer pulled in and ran my plates. He saw that I had no insurance and my registration was revoked so he followed me out of the parking lot and pulled me over a little ways down to road.

The officer towed my car and wrote me two criminal citations for (1) driving without insurance and (2) driving with a revoked license. (The funny thing was, my insurance agent was going to the RMV to reinstate my insurance the next day)

I sent the ticket in and got a court date for a few weeks for both complaints. It says that I need to go to the Clerk-Magistrates office.

I'm just wondering what's ahead of me...
Like will I be meeting with one person? Or more?
Will it be somewhat like an interview? Like the Clerk-Magistrate asks questions and I state my side?
What are the possible outcomes? Could it be dismissed? Will I be fined? Could I lose my license? Would I have to serve jail time?

Sorry for so many questions, I'm new to the court system and very scared... :/

Please help! Any information is helpful.

Thank you!
