I'm 18 years old and just graduated high school. I'm 7 months pregnant and due in early September. I recently lost my job and since have not been able to find another who will hire me being so pregnant. (I know it's illegal or whatever for them to not hire me based on the pregnancy, blah blah blah), but life's unfair and they don't want to do it. I live with my boyfriend, but his checks are hardly enough to cover rent. I was interested in the military before getting pregnant and now am frightened that I wont be able to provide a good future for my daughter. I've been looking into the army and found that I like some of the non-combat careers. I'm nervous to go to a recruiter who will lead me in the wrong direction for a spot he or she has to fill. I understand that I might have to be away from my daughter and miss a lot of important dates (i.e. birthdays, first step, etc.), but if it meant building a better future for my daughter I'd be more than willing. Can anyone with experience tell me if this is a good option after she is born, or should I let my ambition to be in the military go?
