Going from a 2008 to a 2010 or 2011..

I own a 2008 Street Glide along with a 2010 Ultra Limited. When i bought the Limited I thought i would never sell the Street Glide. Well shortly after buying the Limited I am considering selling the SG and buying a new one. The difference is amazing. My buddy rides a 2007 ultra and after riding the 2010 is putting his 2007 up for sale.

I traded up from an 08 Ultra Classic to a 10 Ultra Classic Limited. The new frame, transmission gear spacing, and helical cut 5th gear were the reasons for the upgrade.

I traded in my 2007 Ultra with only 18K miles on it for a 2010 Ultra because of all the changes made between those years. Love the new frame, wider tire, ABS, 6 gallon tank, and redesigned exhaust. Over the weekend, I changed out the exhaust header to get rid of the "cat" with the Jackpot 2-1-2 headpipe. Love that too! Now my D&D's sound like D&D's again!

I went from a 2008 Ultra to a 2011 Ultra. When I first rode it I did not like it. On my 2008 I felt "at one" with the bike. On the 2011 I felt like I was riding "on top" of a bike.

After a few miles I have changed my opinion. The new frame handles very well, I can make much deeper turns without scraping and unlike others here, I think the ride is smoother.

I went with the Ltd (103 engine) and love it. I would not trade back.

I traded my 08 Ultra Classic for a 2011 Limited. Wasn't really in the market to upgrade but test rode the 11 and it was all over. I could immediately tell it handled better. Now after riding it for a while I've noticed that I don't have to shift as much. I'm not enought of a gearhead to tell if it;s the 103 or the gearing, all I know is I like it. I also agree that the ride is stiffer but so far it hasn't bothered me. With all the other changes and the deal I got on the trade in, I'd say it was worth the money and hassle.

I am one of the folks who hasn't traded yet. I put 1600+ miles on a 2010 rental back in July through a fly and ride program. I was considering trading the 08 in on 2011 primarily to get ABS. Unfortunately, the colors available for 2011 just don't work for me. As far as the frame, it handles marginally better than my 08. Riding 2-up and fully loaded I really didn't notice much of a difference. But I do want ABS for peace of mind. I have precious cargo...
