Going for my first blood test tomorrow..?

I'm terrified of needles, and don't know what to expect.

How many times do they draw the blood out? A friend told me they use around 3 tubes to draw the blood out.

I've bought some EMLA cream from the Chemist yesterday, and it's supposed to numb the area so you won't feel anything. Has anyone tried emla, and if so, does it work?

Also, any tips so i won't pass out or anything please? :(
 
the amount of tubes all depends on the lab orders. but not to worry that doesnst me the have to stick u several times just once and the can get all the blood they need. about the passing out part turn your head will there sticking you n dnt look at the blood either just keep lookn the other way the whole time. as far as pain if you get a good phlebotomist you will hardly fill it kinda pinch like a mosquito. DONT WORRY YOU WILL BE JUST FINE!!!!!
