We are a young family. Our oldest child has cerebral palsy , Mental retardation , adhd and autism. We have taken her once and sicne then we have drove from ny to fl. She loves the out doors. She is very Mobile. Our son is 9 weeks old. we would like to go camping for fathers day. But our daughter medicine is all over the place. I will be meeting with her doctors on wesnday.

Any in put would help for either of the kids or both.
when we are home we do not spand a lot of one to one time together and would like to get away.

My biggest concern would be with your oldest daughter. We took our son camping at 8 weeks and he was wonderful and slept great! You are the only one who really knowa your daughter and her needs. If you go have fun!

just make sure you bring WHAT YOU NEED like the medicine, maybe a security lovey (anything to make her familiar with her surroundings). the outdoors is very healing! hearing the birds, smelling the forest in the morning...have fun!! since you've kinda done it before I dont see harm in camping, but I dont have experience with a special needs child. in fact I still have yet to go camping with my son..and I can't wait!!

i think it is a magnificent idea, what fun is it in the house. you and your spouse can take turns with the baby making sure the little one gets what she needs. if your oldest daughter has gone before than she should be fine....it's just a matter of patience and love...and ya'll are going to have fun correct..well than you all need to do that. just because you have a little set back doesn't mean you have to stop all together. :)
hope it works out for you
