In March, my boyfriend and I are planning on using our Spring Break to go Beach camping [much cheaper than vacationing at a hotel].

We have the place picked out at Cumberland Island, Georgia [http://www.nps.gov/cuis/index.htm] but it's been a while since I've gone camping and neither of us has had the previous pleasure of beach camping.

I've done some google researches but haven't found much. I really just want some how-tos or what-to-brings on going camping for roughly four to five days on the beach. What tent to bring, what food and how to cook it, what things we can do, etc.

Thanks in advance for any advice or helpful websites!

The tent stakes will be useless in sand, so buy cheap pie pans attach a thin line to the center of the pan and bury the pan under the sand and attach the other end of the line to the tent.

Make sure you keep the tent flaps open but the mesh part closed to vent the tent otherwise you`ll be sleeping in a sauna

Sleep on a sleeping pad to prevent condensation on the floor and to prevent your body heat from being sapped by the sand...it`s a great conductor of heat.

Check out www.backpacker.com thye should have a lot of tips and hints for camping on beaches or deserts...you`ll be facing the same obstacles.
