going abroad with a pay as you go blackberry on tmobile. need questions answered!!?

Airplane modeturns off all connections. It will come out ur Internet data but to be honest I think the Internet only applies for uk so it will come out ur credit. Ring up and ask
 
so, im on pay as you go and have topped up 20 pound credit to go to tunisia tmrw. when im abroad, i can use 5 pound of the credit to recieve 20mb of internet for 7 days but the trouble it blackberry's internet is always on? for example the facebook app. i get my notifications through, would this still use up credit or the 20mb or would it not effect it until i click on it? same with blackberry messenger, do i need to turn it off or just not send anyone anything? if i need to turn it off if so how? also, is there a way of turning all internet connections off until i want to use it all?

just too add, i kind of dont want to turn all connections off as its free to recieve texts!!! could data roaming have anything to do with this?
