going about lifting a 98 dodge dakota?

i have a 98 dodge dakota. i've saved up enough money to do what i want to it and i'm not to sure what and how i should go about doing it. i don't want it to big i was thinking a 2 or 3 inch spacer lift and some 30 inch tires? i'm not sure where to get a spacer lift from and also i'm not sure what i would need to do after a spacer lift. my friend told me a few extensions for brakes but i cant remember what he said.
