Goal 3 Is Awful: Get It Remade!

After the brilliant first two films in the franchise, we were all set for a classic final part with the wonderkid Santiago Munez playing at the World Cup. What we did not expect, however, was a completley unrelated plotline to the first two films of the series with the main character shoved out of the limelight and forced out of the tournament through injury. The new main characters are rubbish, and even when one of them dies Santiago doesn\'t come into the film (if anything he is less involved). I would like to see the distubutors of the film seriously consider remaking the film atfer actually watching the first two films within their memory spans.

When was that released? I had forgotten all about the Goal films. I enjoyed the first one in 2005 but the second one seemed to come and go without anyone noticing. Goal 2 never even showed up at my local Cineworld and I dont even remember it being shown on SKy Movies or any other tv channel. But as for Goal 3 I do remember a story about filming at the 2006 World Cup for it. So did it go straight to dvd?
 
Yeah it's gone straight to DVD, i started watching it on some website and got bored after 20mins. The first one was pretty good, the second one watchable, the 3rd one, don't waste your time. As the OP has said the plot sucks and from what I saw so does the acting IMHO.
 
Such a disapointment, I really battled to keep it on after 20mins. What was the point in Goal 3 if Santiago wasn't going to be the main focus of attention. Goal 1 and 2 were superb "Football" movies but 3 was just a joke.

I was expecting a great ending to the trilogy but to film the 3rd film with just a few cameo's from the main charactor is a complete joke. I did wonder if I had actually rented Goal 3 for the first 15-20mins as it seemed like some cheap vampire/soft porn flick.
 
Ok you kind of lost me right there... the second film was complete horse shit let's be honest here. The scene where his tiny little brother drives his stolen sports car around Milan like Jensen Button was laughable to say the least, and that Harris character ruined the film.
That said, I was definately going to watch the third just to see the story come to a conclusion, although let's be honest when I heard the plot involves Mexico winning the world cup I almost gave up there and then. To hear that the main character has been giving nothing short of a cameo role is ridiculous, but hey, we're talking about a football trilogy made by Americans here - they call it soccer for a start - so it's no surprise they've turned it into some unbelievable hollywood tripe in the end.
Or maybe the makers realised how shite the whole trilogy is and decided to go out "Colbys" style.
