Gm/ Ford huge losses.. bankrupt?

so i just turned on the news and they are talking about huge losses for main automakers. GM might go out of business "run out of money by next year"

So my question is.. if Gm goes backrupt, what would this mean to someone who has no relation to the company. When most other companies go "bye-bye" you cant find their products anywhere... what does this mean for GM?
 
If GM and Ford go bankrupt, they will be crying to the federal government for a bail out just like the bankers got. We have already let those companies know what we think of their products by not purchasing them. But they will get their money by pressuring congress.

All of us will have the privilege of paying for their stupidity.
