GM 400 Gearbox info please?

i just simply want to know what you (or what is) think the maximum average Power and torque a 1977 GM TH 400 gearbox could withstand preferably in BHP and Ft.lb . i cannot find much infomation on the internet for some reason. i don't think this needed but it is fitted to a pre-he Jaguar XJ-S (stated 284 BHP, 295 Ft.lb) and gearbox has only done 50,000 miles.
