No one said global warming was supposed to eliminate the seasonal cycles of winter and summer, B. The overall trend is still one of decreasing sea ice, at the rate of 9% per decade

Yes, some ice is in the water. And of course if this ice were to melt, sea levels would not rise at all. But what about the ice on Greenland? And Antarctica?

Greenland:
"If the entire 2.85 million km³ of ice were to melt, global sea levels would rise 7.2 m (23.6 ft.)"

If it's a swindle then the 3.1mm rise in global average sea level per year is pretty hard to explain.
