Global phones with Verizon? HTC Ozone or others?

I will be travelling to Thailand next month and would like to get a phone that I can use not only when I'm there, but also use as my regular daily phone in America. So it should have an American number, but one that I don't need to switch out the SIM card to use in Thailand. I would also like it to have Internet access and text capable. Is the HTC Ozone a good choice? Are there any other/better options? How much are the plans for this?
