Glee and Queer as Folk?

Does anyone think that Kurt Hummel from Glee reminds them of a teenage Emmett Honeycutt from Queer as Folk? I was just watching QAF for the first time again since it was still on the air and thought they seemed very alike and not just because they're both effeminate. I think there are moments, especially in Queer as Folk's second season, where they even look alike (or how they would when Kurt's in his 20s). Anyone agree? What similarities (or differences) do you see between them?
 
I only watch glee because my younger cousin Suzie loves it. But I love QAF.
