We just switched over from zeobrite to glass media. We were instructed to put 50lbs pea gravel in the bottom and 150lbs of glass on top. We covered the center tube while filling, and rinsed the the gravel after it was installed and then placed the glass on top. It came about 1 inch from the top of the center tube. We back washed for several minutes and emptied the watch glass several times as it accumulated some each time. I don't want to switch over to filter until I know the glass won't go into the pool. We had no problems last season. The filter is a Jacuzzi 190L which recommend 200lbs of sand. I really don't want to empty the sand that would cost another $100. Any help would be appreciated.
