give red hair a boost of colour?

I am naturally dark but have dyed red hair by a salon at the moment, its fading quick, im using colour protect shampoo and conditioner, is there anything i can use to give it a red boost? any home products? (would red wine rince work?) Or even anything from salon or shops? Or should i go over it with a semi-perminent dye? thanks
