Girls, story about first week at college? what do you think?

sooo I am 18 and just started college. the first week of school I met so many girls and they said I was really cute and stuff. The thing is I was wearing a hat all week long to hide a big bald spot and thinning hair. Then during week 2 I saw like 4 of these cute girls I met and they said "omg your balding!!" then they said "we have to go now" and started laughing and walking away. I don't really care cuz I can't help going bald but I was wondering how big of a turn off is it? on a scale of 1-10? please be honest thanks
