Gift for graduation from boot camp?

What is a good gift for a marine who just graduated boot camp, I would like to get him something that he can take with him and also something thoughtful. I'm not sure what would be appropriate or what he is allowed to bring or anything, Any suggestions would be helpful, thank you.
 
When I graduated basic training in 1995, the only gift I needed was a smile from my mom and family, and a hug from all of them too! My dad was a Marine, he passed 5 years previously, and even though I chose the Army, I know he was smiling down on me too!
 
Ill tell you what I would of wanted when I graduated that I could of used for my USMC career.

-a watch. Be sure its black, waterproof, and digital..nothing fancy but nothing cheap either.It has to be able to take a beating. Casio makes the best ones..I think they are called "shockwave" or something like that

-a nice lighter if he smokes

- a KBAR knife from an official USMC site. Sgt Grit.com has them online. It is a knife that all Marines would love to have.Its a official knife of the USMC
 
LAVADOG has it RIGHT on TARGET. a couple of extra Battalion PT T-Shirts would be cool as well. Mine worn out 2 decades ago!

In 79, My Great Uncle, a WW2 Super Chief (retired) and Great Aunt, a WW2 Navy Nurse (retired Captain), brought me a bottle of Chivas Regal 12 Yo scotch. I don't advise that today!

Tell him Semper Fi and Congratulations from ME and the other Marines online at Y!A!!!!
 
A photo album! They treasure photos not just cds they want paper pictures they want letters! Maybe something then he can put it a nice box to put down in his locker or his ruck sack!
