Bright red blood on tissue

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I am not here to get a diagnoses only a doctor can do that. I am here to converse about what is happening to me and try to make sense of it and decide how to approach this.

I've had trouble with my stomach now for a year. First indigestion for months and then it subsided, then horrible lower back pain that subsided. I had constipation so bad that I've needed help to go.

Now I am seeing bright red blood on tissue after going to bathroom. I was constipated last week when I first notice a small amount of blood. At first I wasn't sure what to think about it. Today I was very constipated and strained it was painful and I noticed bright red blood more than before. I had a low grade fever for about a week a virus of some kind, so I probably got a little dehydrated and the stools were hard and dry, and painful to strain out.

So what did I do? I took 2 ducolax and man I feel horrible these things tear up my GI system. I feel like my whole intestines is on fire. I cannot take this stuff and I know that, but I thought it help ease my constipation and it did, but my stomach is a wreak now. I have pains in my abdomen and burning so bad. My stools turn orange when I use this stuff to.

I am thinking I have bleeding internal hemorrhoiRAB. I am using som prep H and so far I have not seen anymore blood today, but the pain and burning from the evacuation of the stools from this ducolax caps is pretty bad.

I must have a sensitive colon and intestines, because I cannot tolerate the ducolax caps. MOM does not seem as harsh on my stomach, but I thought ducolax was supposed to be gentle and it is not.

I need a little input, so please respond....

If you haven't yet, you might as well get the ball rolling on an appointment with a GI doctor. Your issues may continue, and this way, you'll be on the list for an appointment. Even if your symptoms disappear, you should still get checked out.

If you have to make an appointment with your general practitioner first, to get a referral to the GI doc, do that. Be sure they are all aware you've seen blood multiple times.

I agree that you need to get this checked out. It sounRAB like an internal fissure. When YOu r stools get hard, they can tear at tne thin lining of the intestine and cause bleeding. My hubby used to get these.

The solution is to drink alot of fluiRAB and add more fiber to your diet to help with the constipation and the hard stools. This neeRAB to be a daily thing, not just when you feel constipated. The extra fiber will help kepe things moving along.

good luck!
