GHWT game with Rock Band 2 Drums. Drums not showing flashing lights at bottom?

Ok I got GHWT for X-mas but it was only the guitar bundle. My dad bought me some drums but they are Rock Band 2 drums. They should work, but when i plug in the connector to the back, it won't show the lights on the drums indicating that it is working. Help please!?!?!?!?
I've asked tons of people who have done the same thing for them and that works.
