Ghost Rider

Watched it this evening. Film better watched with your brain left in the lobby. Good way to pass a few hours but nothing special. Was a bit disappointed that the Rider's battle with the Evils weren't a bit longer and a bit more fisticuffed packed. I think it was set up to provide a introduction and maybe a sequel if there is one will be a bit more action packed.

More in the Fantastic Four league than Spiderman or Superman. Don't expect to be moved at all. Great effects, particularly when the bike jumps off the roof and drives down the building (it's in the trailer too) but it doesn't really engage on any level - at the end I didn't care for any of the characters.

Did anyone spot Stan Lee? He usually cameos in his films but I'll be damned if I spotted him.

Saw it yesterday, thought it was a load of crap! It was a pointless film, i was sitting there watching thinking why did they bother wasting time and money to make this film?

Agree. A pointless ego trip for Cage, who was so desperate to play a comic book hero that he purused this tosh.

The film would've been better (but not by much), had they kept the younger version of Johnny. Cage just looks too long in the tooth for all this nonsense. No suspense, thrills or danger whatsoever. SFX were so-so and whole thing was very flat throughout. No fun at all watching undead / demons slogging it out, just to disappear into vapour.

Hopefully, this will be a one-film (non) wonder and won't spawn a sequel or 3. Ranks far below the director's previous outing DareDevil, which was Superman: The Movie in comparison to this. As it is, Ghost Rider is down there with the likes of CatWoman  , Elektra and The Punisher. No more fourth rate superhero flicks Marvel!!!

Went to se it yesterday with the other half and my two boys. They loved it although my 10 year old was a bit upset by the kissing scenes (the demons killing people were fine though). I just kept seeing great holes in the plot- I know I should have suspended belief at the door of the cinema! For example at the end there is no mention of the fact that he is still wanted for mass murder by the police unless that got sorted out earlier and I missed it. And if he is doing the devils work why is he picking on the bad guys? Surely he should be after the good ones instead??

I don't think NC was desperate to play just any superhero - he even has a Ghost Rider tattoo which had to be covered up for this movie. He is a massive GR fan and was desperate for this part.

Still a godawful movie, mind.

The point of changing 12 to 12a was to give parents the option to go against the recommendations of the BBFC. StanRAB to reason that some people will.

I'm glad i'm not the only one... I didn't spot him either! No Stan Lee in a Marvel movie??? Now that's just plain wrong!

As for the movie - well it's not that bad... I think people have to remember it's based on a comic book, so a bit of 'leaving your brain at home' and suspending belief is required.

All in all, thought cage was good, young cage was very good, sfx were not bad (could have been better) and the bad guy fights could have been a tad more impressive... would have liked to seen a bit of a face of between GR and Mephisto - but that may be kept for the sequel.

Yeah, just because you can doesnt mean you should! I can drink as much as i want till i collapse and have my stomach pumped, doesnt mean i should!

Not that i really care, you know what you kiRAB can or cannot handle!

What on earth is Nic cage doing in this pile of rubbish? he had such promise in his earlier films but this is one of the worse films I've seen..even my 13 year old thought it was trash!
