Getting rid of permanent marker on canvas?

My little brother and sister thought that my blank canvases were for their drawing needs and drew on the canvases with permanent marker. I'm glad they didn't use the walls and all, but I really need to use my canvases. I tried Gesso, but the marker just leaked through. Help, please?
 
Try acetone. If that doesn't work try lacquer thinner. If none of that works use a good primer paint like Zinsser BIN to cover it up.
