Getting ready to rent an apartment but question about rental application....?

My husband and I are getting ready to rent an apartment. My husband is deployed and I have his power of attorney allowing me do anything I need to do. My question is pretty simple, though. Filling out the rental application, does it matter if my name isn't on it? And if I need to put it on there, does it matter whose name I put first? I only ask this because I am not employed and wanted to know if it will make a difference in them deciding to approve us or not. I have excellent credit and my husband is almost excellent. Serious answers only. Thanks.
 
If you are both over the age of 18 you both have to be on the application. His name is normally on the left, and yours would be on the right. Each property has it's own rental criteria that has to be met.
