Getting Pissed!!!!

I'm starting to lose faith in the brand!!!!! Ever since i bought my 1098 in July of 08 I've had nothing but problem after problem. It's been in the shop probably for a week out of every month I've owned it for some bs electrical problem. As of now it has been in the shop for 7 weeks!!!!!! WTF! I'm still making the payments for something i don't even get to use.

For the most recent visit to the dealer, i took it because it was leaking coolant. The water pump cover was warped and the fan relay error code appeared. Of course, the part was on back order and took 5 weeks to get here. They had told me that was why the error code and check engine light was on. Wrong. So then they tried to change the ecu. Light and error code is still on. Now they tell me i have to change the wiring harness and are waiting approval from Ducati. This was about 2 weeks ago and DNA has yet to get back to them.

Is there something i can do about this? I would sell it but would take a huge loss, plus, i love this bike when it runs right once a year.

if they have your bike over 30 days within warranty period without agreement you can demand a buy back! I would atleast bring it up and usually DNA will perform drastic measures to avoid it.

That's why we have the lemon law. Sorry to hear your bike need theropy, spa days and an attitude adjustment already. You can take a motorcycle mechanics course and get to know how to make these repairs on your own.

I agree... Your dealer is pulling your chain. Ducati's have problems once you start screwing with them. Sound to me like your faithful dealer is letting you down. They're either over-worked and don't have the time it takes to do your bike OR they're last on the list to receive parts.

Italy is closed down in August, so if you've got a problem in August, you're screwed. But there shouldn't be any excuse for a part on a CURRENT bike being on back order for 5 weeks. Sounds to me like they didn't order it.

well i just called DNA a couple of days ago. The woman was very rude and her exact words we're "What do you expect us to do about it?" But she caught her self halfway through and said "Obviously we will do whatever we can to correct the problem." Cool. So I guess they called the dealer. Then the dealer called me leaving a message. Mind you, I like the guys at Batley Cylcle. Pretty cool fella's. I didn't call DNA to complain about the dealer. I called to state that they sold me a POS.And when it gets another issue a week after i get it out of the shop(Guaranteed) that they'll be hearing from me again.

Not to sound like an asshole, but why would anyone want to go to school to learn to fix anything for a product thats brand new still under warranty, let alone still paying a monthly bill?

Would you go to a appliance reapair school to keep your refrigerator running?
