Getting MRI ,screws and rods in back

Hi, I just saw my ortho dr. today and he wants to get an mri of my back. I am 9 months post op with seven screws and three roRAB. I was surprised the mri request since there is so much metal there, i had an mri last year prior to this last surgery and it was difficult to read with only one rod in my spine from scoliosis surgery i had years ago. Has anyone had a succesful mri with all this metal in them?? Also i would hate to have one loose screw w/ that magnet powered up.lol:eek: p.s. Ive had nerve problems since surgery (s1 to l2 fusion) in my left foot and leg and thats what th dr wants the mri done for.
