Getting money back on Prepaid services

I relocated to a different state and was wondering if anyone opted for the prepaid oil changes from their local dealer and got the money back for services you didn't use? A different dealer I had visited now local said that you can try to get the money refunded and some states they have to do it. Wondering if anyone has gone thru this and or any advice on who I may need to contact? Thanks for any help!!

i've never heard of prepaid oil changes. i really don't know why anyone would be interested in that service. it would seem that if you can afford a $20,000 dollar motorcycle, oil changes should be affordable when needed.

Yes the prepaid service contracts can be refunded. They will pro-rate due to any service that you did recieve.

I had bought a plan with my wifes bike, but after thinking on it a bit more, I knew she would never ride enough to make it worthwhile so I cancelled it and got a full refund.

I use the plan on my scoot simply because I save money by doing so. I paid up front for what would amount to 5 service intervals, over a three year period. I am just past the second year, and have used 8 services so far. (Service is every 5000 miles)

Thank you Trailfndr and FLTRI4ME, I've always owned used bikes till I bought my 09. What they told me is that it was insurance on any warranty work if anything was to happen to it. Alot of my buds say they wish they had done it since it covers all the adjustments on the bike from front to back along with the fluid changes for 10,000 miles. That also includes a new rear tire when its needed but I don't even want a Dunlop put back on it. I appreciate the input and thanks again.

I do want to comment that I am glad I opted for the Prepaid oil changes at the time. This last year I was diagnosted with severe sleep apnea and had to have a Trachyostomy done so I could breath at night. I rode when I could but in the end I didn't miss the service due on it with being off work for over 6 months and then the loss of my job because of all the complications and 3 surgeries later. For those who have apnea go and get checked, I'm not to much overweight at 247 lbs and 6'1" tall. Just my .02
