Hi everyone, I know its been ages since I wrote but I have been lurking on the pain management board. I am having the stim implant trial put it today. I have thought about it a long time, and my pain doc recommenRAB I go ahead with it. I feel to stay in compliance with him I should try it. My surgeon's office said they could do a second surgery trying to shave down the screws, and clean out the scar tissues etc, but my pm doc said if the first one didnt work a second one will only make me worse and I dont want to spend 6 months in a brace again.

With the economy the way it is, and me actually working 32hours a week, I think I need to go with keeping my job. I would love to hear from anyone that has had the medtronic stim implant. I went on their website and signed up for an arabassador to call me but it was only a brief call and they wont give you their email for follow up.

Hope you are all doing well. Im always thinking about you guys! Take Care!

Hello Jen
I've been reading your posts with interest. I found you by googling "sacrilization" and hope you would be able to let me know if you had the surgery and how it has been since. I know you mentioned it in a post you made quite a while ago now and it looks like you may have been through a bit since. Hope you are feeling better now.
I have had back problems for a long time now. My first surgery was 10 years back when I had a microdiscectomy on L4/L5. After a long period of pain, I had a hybrid multi level done at the end of April last year. I had Charite ADR at L3/L4, L4/L5 and ALIF fusion at L5/S1. I've since had more Facet Joint injections and another complete denervation and still in pain. My surgeon has told me I have two anomolies, Spina Bifida Occult and Bertlotti Syndrome which together have caused all the damage. That is now fixed but the cause is still there and he has talked about a re-section of the unilateral transverse vertebra which is sacrilized.
Having had a massive surgery which has taken so long to recover from has made me apprehensive about further surgery but I can't face the prosepect of continued pain and the need for long term medication. I just want to find out from anyone who has had this procedure just what it is like and how long it takes to recover because I have already had more than 3 months off work.
Hope you can let me know how it all went for you.
Look forward to hearing from you soon
Thanks
