getting fish. need to know everything!?

okay , so im a pet lover, and i would love To have me some fish. but i need to know EVERYTHING. that way i wont miss a beat on taking care of fish. if some one can please tell me everything i need , it would be much appreciated. my total budget would be between $30.00 to $50.00. im not that kind of person that cares where i buy my stuff, so walmart or target . would be acceptable :)
im not looking for those really big tanks, with huge fish. just a small tank with one or two gold fish is what im aiming for :)
 
You'll need to budget a bit more than $50, as fishkeeping is far from cheap. The first thing I would do is plenty of research, as this is what will form the backbone of your knowledge. Take a look at the following links:

Even if you purchased your equipment second-hand it will still cost upwards of $100 including extras such as test kits.
