getting education discount for a mac?

My situation is a bit more complicated. I am a college student in Jamaica and I want to get a Macbook Pro for the new semester but most I can shell out is $1500. Ive heard about students discount on the mac site but my University will not be listed so what are tips I can use to get this for example, will I have to let a friend who goes to college there order it for me and other tips for this discount
