I seem to be in a hole physically right now. I have had acid reflux probs for a long time now...a couple of weeks ago told I also have a hiatus hernia...but its my breathing ( ruled out anxiety). On exertion it seems to be worse but actually it can be bad at any time, even in bed at rest. Suddenly this inability to breath fully. I even do diaphramatic breathing regualarly and have for years with my meditation.

I have just had a stress test ( heart) and it was a negligible result..ie wasnt perfect but told it might not mean too much either. Then I have had two thallium tests ( one resting/one after treadmill)..wont get results for a while. The last three times I have had my blood pressure taken it has been low..around 90/50.

When I get the breathing probs I get a bit disorientated and dizzy..lightheaded. Burping sometimes makes the breathing a lot better ( after gaviscon).
I am getting confused.
Breathing probs of this kind can be associated with acid trouble, also the heart...and then theres the blood pressure problem. I am getting more concerned with the professional disregard for related acid/breathing probs that all focus will be on my heart. They wanted me to have an angiogram and i refused but agreed to the tahllium tests. I was told about the bp probs at hosiptal visits and wonder if i should see my gen doc about this?

Does this sound like acid or heart..or both. Anyone have any feelings on this please?

Thanks

It IS confusing and the symptoms can point either way. My family doctor and I "barked" up the heart tree for a couple of months before I got diagnosed with LPR. It's probably prudent to do the heart tests to eliminate the life-threatening possibilities first; in fact, some GI doctors insist on this before they will even see you for a GI consult. That tells you alot about how much GI symptoms can reserable heart symptoms. I personally have had very little breathing trouble with my LPR; only when my LPR peaked (about 6 weeks ago) did I experience a little shortness of breath and I'm not sure if it was even caused by the reflux. It could have been anxiety because I was getting slightly freaked out by how much "unexplained" chest pain I was having.

The dizzy, light-headed feeling...seems like that could be related to your low blood pressure, too. That's probably worth asking your family doctor about.
