I have read the past posts concerning the same thing. The issue I have is with the categorization as if I was driving a car. This infraction will go against my issued driver's license. No one needs a driver's license to ride a bike. What if I did not have a license?
I am operating a bicycle not a 150 hp machine.
I was given a ticket for not stopping at a newly installed stop sign and failure to have a light on my bike. Only reflectors is not good enough.
The motorcycle cop is a traffic cop and has to bring in money to the city. $190.00 for each infraction is extreme. The city got the cost of my bike, hence why even ride. So much for being green. The officer even asked why I was not driving my car.
This is considered a moving violation and I was moving a fast as I could walk since it was on an overpass hill. If I was moving on a skateboard or rollerblades this would have not even been an issue.
discouraged in Nevada.
$190.00 each infraction totaling $380.00
I don't want replies about safety. I installed lights and now drive my bike like a car. I use arms signal even though car drivers don't even bother now days. I even beep when I back up.
I am looking for responses concerning this kind of infraction against my driver's license. The fine is the same as if I did this in a car. What if I did not have a license then no points against my driving record. This is the contradiction I am confused with. Thanks.
Impaler does not like any bike humor. All work and no play. And to all of you haters it is my option to ride a bike.
