in a minor accident.? Two days ago I was involved in a minor fender-bender. It was my fault and although no major damage was visible on either of our cars (my car is a piece of junk in the first place, and his car had a tiny dent) we exchanged information. The gentleman called the next day to tell me he took his car to the body shop at his dealership and they gave him an estimate of $608 in order to check for interior damage. Apparently they need to remove the rear bumper in order to look for any damage (they suspect there isn't any) and repair/refinish the bumper. $470 of this estimate is for labour.
Is this reasonable? I am going to get a second opinion at a couple other places today.
If I do find a lower estimate elsewhere, how can I pose this to the other driver? He's been extremely kind and understanding about the whole situation but I also understand that he would like to have his car fixed by a reliable company.
Advice?
