Getting a large, freight package when not at home?

I need to have a sofa shipped to my apt., but will not be at home on the estimated delivery date.

Is there any service/location that exists that can accept my package and I pick up at a later date?

Can I ship to a storage facility (or does it depend on the storage company)?

I'm in NY if it matters.
