I would like to get a new phone and wanted to get your insight. I have been searching the forums and have not quote found all the answer to my questions. Could you please tell me what you guys think?

I am on Verizon and am eligible for the "New in Two" promotion. I am currently in Flroida but travel to Western NY quite often.

Here are my needs:
1. Durability. I drop my phone about once a week, usually in a parking lot. (So that means no Razr.)
2. Battery life. I always forget to charge my phone at night, I need it to last a while.
3. Some hackability. I'd like to be able to buy a cable then put a few on my own MP3s on their as ringtones and take pictures on/off without Verizon charging me to do so.

What I don't care a lot about:
1. I don't care if it is an MP3 player. I just don't need that out of my phone.
2. Bluetooth. My state doesn't have a hands-free-while-driving law so I don't care if I can have one of those bluetooth earpieces or not.

I currently have the LG VX6000 and actually thought about keeping it. It always keep a signal and 2 years later it is solid as ever. No creaks at all from it. My front runner is the Moto 815, basically because I sort of know a guy who has one and he says all three good things above apply to that phone. I have a friend who has the Samsung SCH-a950 and he isn't a big fan of it.

So, please lemme' know what you think. Based on the new phones out there, which one do you like best and why? Which would you recomend to me?

Thanks!!!

The e815 is the most hackable i suggest getting the leather case so if you drop it will help it some . Yeah it has good rf and a decent battery life its a great phone bluetooth is worth it hate driving in the car and having wires from the handsfree every since i went with a bt headset for driving its so much easier than fumbling with the phone to open it . e815 has the external flashlight as you call it lol.

I don't have it myself, but it's small, has a rubberized plastic exterior, supposed to feel very nice in the hand. As with all the VZW Motorolas, the reception is excellent. It's just a solidly built, well performing phone without all the flair of the Razr or E815. If the prices are similar and you can see yourself enjoying the features, the E815 is superb as well (what I use) and the screen is gorgeous.
