It is impossible for me to wake up in the morning without music playing. I have a Yamaha RX-V661 receiver in my room and i recently acquired the YDS-11 iPod docking station. I was wondering if there was a way i could get the iPod to automatically play when the receiver turns on (the receiver is plugged into a timer). Before I got the dock, I had my mac plugged in to the receiver (which i had to leave on all night *didn't figure out about the timer trick yet*) and was running the app iTunes Alarm, which would start playing a selected playlist in iTunes at a selected time. This worked, but id rather have the receiver off while I sleep to save energy, and the cable has unplugged from the computer several times resulting in me not waking up at 6:20 AM. I have the app alarm tunes on my iPod and when that is playing music it doesn't stop if i sleep the receiver and power it back on, but I'm worried it might quit for some reason or another durring the night. Maybe there is a device that works like a harmony remote but sends a command at a specific time? Or an application that runs in the background on my iPod? *by the way i have a 2G iPod Touch, YDS-11 iPod docking station, and a RX-V661 Receiver*
